Just piping in here to say that I experienced burning of the skin when I had liver problems, i.e, reduced bile flow from the liver.

In fact, I had burning and itching. Get your liver enzymes tested, but more importantly, have the doctor do a bile acid test(which should be done while fasting).

I was given pharmaceutical ox bile (Actigall) to take while I was pregnant with this condition, and it was extremely helpful.

I don't know if you are male or female, but my reduced bile flow was aggravated by pregnancy, when my estrogen levels skyrocketed. As you know, the liver helps to convert/process estrogen, and mine is unable to handle large amounts. NOw that I am relieved of child, the burning has pretty much gone away although I cannot take birth control pills.
