Dear Mary,
Actually, I know of quite a few pregnant women who have done liver flushes successfully. Liver flushing doesn't seem to interfere with breastfeeding either. Overall, it has a hormone-balancing effect. However, I would generalize this, since there are women who are prone to morning sickness and other problems and taking the oil mixture might aggrevate the situation. If not sure, it is better to wait until 2 months after giving birth. One advice: make certain to keep the umbilical cord alive (not clamped or cut) for as long as it is throbbing. If cut too soon, the baby has only 2/3 of the blood it needs, and hardly any antibodies from the mother. The placenta is a filter to purify the blood after the baby's birth, and it can take up to 50-60 minutes to complete the cleasning. A lot of future problems can be avoided this way. Best place and easiest position to give birth is the bath tup at home. This also prevents shocking the baby as it moves from one warm water (of the womb) to the next (bath water).
Regarding the other part of your question, I thing Hanna has already given you the right answer.
Blessings,
Andreas
