I can only emphasize two things...one, you may not feel EXTREMELY sick at all. I never did. I have slumps, but I never threw up, had diahrrea or any really bad times. I believe that positive mental attitude, good emotional support at home and friends, and a suppportive medical team, PLUS spiritual faith will do wonders. Look at the end and what it will hopefully achieve for you. It is only 11 months. And it MAY not be that bad. Second, you will read over and over that the liver will not make you ill until it is TOO late. If you feel good, like I did, now is the time to treat this. Because if you wait until you feel poorly, you have cirrosis and that's the death sentence.
We all have two choices with Hep. Live with it or try to treat it and put it in remission.
At first I was afraid to share the news of HEP C with anyone except my immediate family. But then I realized that I needed support and I will find out who my true comrades are! Not one person turned their back on me. It has been a great help during this whole therapy. Now I did not tell my co-workers, I just muddle through at work. I have enough other reasons to explain why I yawn all the time: my mother is dying, sheep farm, dark days of winter....
It will help you to trust a few good people about your situation.Remember, this disease touches all walks of life. It has been a social stigma in the past but that has changed. Don't be ashamed, it's too late for that. It's time to get after this thing and succeed!
I am happy to continue to share with you if it helps. I met another woman on this site and we now share emails privately, as she will be starting treatment in about a month. Maybe you would like to get in this group with us if you do decide to start therapy also?
