I know this is asking for a lot... but can you give me any kind of hope for cartilage regeneration in the knee?
The patient in question (I'm his most likely support) is a 50 year old male who underwent arthroscopic surgery 10 years ago after he tore the cartilage in his right knee. The "doctors" removed the damaged cartilage and predicted that in ten years he would have to replace his knee with a plastic one; at present, he has reached the point where he must make a decision about the knee because it is very painful; however, he is quite adamant about fixing his predicament "without the knife" and I happen to be his support.
Personally, my feeling is, that it certainly is possible, unlike the many experts who have told him that he must have his knee replaced. My hope is that the body can do it if it receives the correct stimulus.
I would be greatly indebted if you could shed light and insight on this matter...
Thanks so much, Andreas
Jesse
