well you are probably paying attention to "detail" so to speak haa haa
but..if you are getting irritation anywhere your body makes mucus to help flush it out. like say you had a worm hooked in your intestine or whatever. as it dies its giving off toxins and so your body to protect you coats it in mucus to help contain it and move it out.
