This may not apply to you if you have already updated your WindowsXP with the required Aug 22 06 patch. If not you may want to run Microsoft update and install the latest patche(s).

"Recently you may have noticed an increase in IE Crashes. You receive this pop-up:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Followed by a request to report the error and/or restart IE. This is being caused by the most recent Microsoft Patch. A patch for the patch will not be released until August 22.
