I would say no. Bright red blood is a fresh bleed, most likely from a hemorrhoid or a small tear. However, bleeding needs to be stopped and the cause isolated if not healed before doing anything that might cause further problems. If the bleeding is heavy or occurs frequently, you need medical attention to discover the cause.
