Maybe you should forget about bowel cleansing as such, and just take some probiotics for a few months and see what happens? Or try FOS to encourage the good bugs to proliferate. Maybe you are low in beneficial bacteria without actually having lots of bad bugs in your gut, ie, maybe the good and the bad are simultaneously low.
