My understanding is that there is a difference between "compacted matter" and "mucoid plaque."

Mucoid plaque is supposedly caused when you eat something -- like, anything from McDonald's, for example -- which is full of chemicals and other things that the body reacts to as "toxic" -- in order to protect itself from absorbing those toxins, the intestinal walls release mucous to surround the toxins and get them out of the body encased in a sheath of mucous...

What happens when you eat a steady diet of foods that are "mucoous forming" is that your intestine is producing mucous all the time and eventually this forms into a wall of "mucoid plaque" lining the intestines... stuff can get stuck in there, old food particles, gum, etcetera....as well as old feces.

Compacted feces are something else... although related-- again, as I understand it. These are feces that can get stuck in the colon, sometimes pushed into the diverticuli - the little indents in the walls, which can cause diverticulitis over time -- also they can just slow down the whole process.

While compacted feces are related to mucoid plaque, and lots of mucoid plaque can increase the likelihood of compacted feces, i don't think they are exactly the same thing.

At least, that is what I have learned from reading several books on the subject.

So - if Oxypowder says it can release the compacted feces, it may not necessarily mean 'mucoid plaque' when they say 'compacted feces'....

Hope this might help.
