The psyllium tabs will work the same as the powder if you take enough water. Yes, it is easier and more convenient to take the tabs. You will probably have to take more tabs as they have a tendency to stay intake and swell as they absorb fluid.
I have not found that psyllium removes a lot of mucus plaque. It usually requires a good enema or colonic series to eliminate plaques. The psyllium will then help to keep the bowel free of plaque formation.
