I stopped at a healthfood store and was overwhelmed by all the vitamins, etc. There were bottles with "psyllium" and "Paragon" all over the place, but when I finally asked a clerk if they carried liquid bentonite, she led me to Bowel Cleanse Paradise, a huge aisle packed with all kinds of scary stuff, colons drawn on boxes, etc. She handed me a big white box that said Sonne's #7 on it, and it was the only liquid Bentonite they carried, and the only size. It's a quart, so I'm good for awhile, eh? I read the labels on some of the bottles on that aisle, but I'm not ready for them yet. I paid for my liquid Bentonite ($18 for a quart) and brought it home.

It's in a big brown bottle, and it looks like clearish-white Sugar glaze - only it hasn't got a smell or taste at all. I shook it well, then put my tongue to a dip-sample... it made my tongue kind of numb, but that's all, and that borders on exaggeration. I'm glad it's not wicked, smelly green or anything. Actually, after hearing of its mighty powers, I'm surprised at its simplicity.

For anyone interested in knowing more, the box has directions printed on it. "For average adult 1 tablespoonful. For others, 1 teaspoonful for each 50 lbs. body weight. Take 2 doses per day. The first one in warm water upon rising; the other undiluted at time of evening meal. However, drink at least one glassful of water between meals to assist elimination of acid and toxic waste through kidneys. May be taken for a duration as long as desired."


I started my Bowel Cleanse adventure (for it truly is that!) only a few days ago. I had stumbled across a website, and saved the photos to gross out my husband, then started reading and kinda got sold on the whole idea. The next day at Wal-Mart, I bought a canister of sugar-free Konsyl, which is a psyllium powder. I followed the dosing instructions, 2 heaping teaspoons for an adult, and gulped it down in a little glass of warm chocolate milk. Yuck, it was very grainy and thick.

The next morning, actually 24 hours later, I used a Fleet enema and discovered some mucoid plaque in that movement! It was followed by more throughout the day - It was only "new" mucoid, brown and rubbery... not the black stuff yet. But it was definitely enough to get me excited about gagging down more Konsyl! That night I passed some scarier mucoid, knotted clumps of nastiness roped together, but I'm still waiting for the really old, bicycle tire stuff. In the first two days of cleansing, I passed about four feet of poo, about half of it was mild mucoid. It might have been largely emotional, but I felt INCREDIBLE. =o)

I didn't take any psyllium, or an enema, yesterday, because I felt like I was pushing myself too much. Even so, I've continued to pass more mucoid. I'm REALLY excited now that I can start using some bentonite!

There is more information on the box regarding the safety of using bentonite. -

"Since bentonite, the main ingredient in #7 with its active constituent montmorillonite, has such strong adsorptive (their spelling) powers, its consumption could render unavailable some of the necessary nutrients, such as certain vitamins, by absorbing them from the alimentary canal. However, independent experiments purposefully designed to find out how much this absorption would adversely affect the growth and health of experimental animals indicated no ill effects when the intake of Bentonite was 25% of the total diet, but did adversely affect the health when the intake of bentonite was increased to 50% of the total diet. (From annals of the N.Y. Academy of Science, Vol. 57, page 678, may 10, 1954.) Since our product is mostly water with only a small proportion of bentonite, to reach this state of toxicity it would mean projection the results of this experiment so that a person would have to consume each day a supply designed for 1032 days. In other words, mathematically for the bentonite in our product to reach the toxic level of 50% of the diet it would be necessary to consume a 3 year supply each day over an extended period."
