Rumsfeld distorts history to try and score propagenda points on possible treatment of US POW's.

During a TV interview this morning I was amazed to hear Donald Rumsfeld threaten Iraq to the effect that anyone who might mistreat a US POW(ie showing their faces on TV) would be breaking the Geniva convention and held accountable under "the rule of law," following the war! He went on to suggest that since we have experience with Iraq, "we know they gas their people," we can expect the worst. He failed to mention the real experience we do have with Iraq's treatment of our POW's from Gulf slaughter 1. Iraq captured 45-50 fighter pilots who were involved in raining down DU weapons (the likely radioactive cause of Gulf war syndrome) that killed their sons and daughters and poisoned their homeland for thousands of years to come. Those airpersons from the US and UK were released unharmed before the end of fighting. If you go to www.yellowtimes.org you will see pictures of the captured soilders. They seem well cared for given that they are taking part in an unprovoked war of aggression in total contravention of the UN charter thousands of miles from home. Donald should compare that to the treatment Afghan POW's have gotten down in Guantanamo. Remember that our country freely admits the use of torture in order to gain desired information. We will do well never to forget the hypocrisy of Mr. Rumsfeld and the rest or the Bush regime when discussing this sorry mess with others. jamie

Thanks Jamie...I agree

Freedom of press!

(YellowTimes.org) -- YellowTimes.org was temporarily shut down Sunday night. Its new hosting provider shut it down due to publishing "Inappropriate graphic material."

After removing pictures of civilian Iraqi deaths and injuries, along with photos of American POWs, YellowTimes.org was allowed to print again.

There are related articles in the News From the Front section on this matter.
