I understand what you mean about the anxiety, paranoia and fear that we can have after getting bad medical advice. It's rather disconcerting, to say the least. As amazing as it is, from what I hear your experience with your gallbladder operation is becoming increasingly common.
Apparently not having a gallbladder can be an annoyance but not life shortening. Actually, it sounds like you made out alright. Occasionally we hear from people who almost died in surgery, had other complications, infections, digestive disorders, continuing pain, etc.
As far as I know you can rest your mind at ease, count your blessings, and drop in to lurk or post as you will and see what other comments others may have in the future. If you have the time, $/insurance and inclination, you might consider getting feedback from another doctor to see how his/her patients are doing.
