I agree with what you are saying. Actually, I was joking around with that post. I doubt she would tell her son that anyway. )
I do think it is important to teach our children to think in unconventional terms, but children that are younger are not going to really care anyway. At that age they just pretty much want to experience life for what it is. Can't speak for all kids - but most of them are like that.
I do think that it is important to teach children that they are more than their physical bodies from an early age. Having that mindset can really enrich a childs life. Possibly the next step would be to teach them that those that are "out" are still with them - literally - and to demonstrate how observational skills can be maximized. Not in so much technical terms such as this I suppose, but in a way that they can understand. My little brother, whom is 11, is already having experiences - but because of his age he does not think or focus on them as much.
He is still too busy having fun.
