From Justis Barrymore...
On the strength of the emails that are coming in at the moment, it is obvious that many of us are going through the same thing right now. Complete questioning of our belief systems and the structures that we are bound to.
For so long, so many of us have tried to be better people. We have done the meditations, we have followed the signs, we have listened to our inner guidance . . . only at the end of it all to be left with this feeling of being completely bored with it all, and wondering what is coming next? If all the “stuff” doesn’t work . . . what the hell do we do now?
The patterns and conditioning that we have so diligently worked to eradicate appear to be stronger than ever and we are left with nothing more than a healthy dose of what can only be described as ‘The Dark’.
What is happening to each of us right now is exactly that . . . the dark. Did we honestly believe that our violet light meditation could eradicate our suffering, our pain and our experiences that bought us to the light in the first place?
In fact, just looking at that is reflection enough in itself. Our darkness, our memories, our trials and tribulations are a huge part of who we are and therefore deserve a hell of a lot more than trying to be transmuted. The reason that most people are falling away into nothingness is basically the first stage of loving ourselves completely. It’s called disappointment.
Think about dis-appointment; not as a whining, whinging complaint, but DIS-APPOINTING something to RE-APPOINT some-thing else. What is being dis-appointed right now are all the lies and tricks that have been used by our very clever Egos to make us feel like we are something greater than we actually are. We have actually believed that we are beyond the darkness, better than it, more superior.
Take the story of Jesus talking to his disciples about having faith in God and the strength of it. Imagine that group sitting there . . . listening intently to their supposed Saviour . . . nothing more than fishermen. Listening intently to every word, nodding, approving, marvelling at the magnificence of God’s love and faith, that God had actually chosen THEM, to be something more, something better. But inside, not really believing that it was true. Feeling their own unworthiness and judging the fact that it couldn’t possibly be that easy.
After all, why the hell would God be interested in fish, in the grand scheme of it all?
Instead of eating the truth and realising how much they had dis-appointed God inside of themselves and re-appointed some big man who sits in the sky and throws lightning bolts, they just kept nodding and smiling and pretending to be something other than what they really were . . . Gods in action.
Consequently, the result of the story was the disciples being shown up for how little they did believe that God was inside of them. Being shown up by disappointment and inspiring a disappointed reaction from Jesus . . . “Oh yea of little faith”.
The story of walking on water, I believe to be a perfect analogy of how to truly use disappointment as a tool. Dis-appoint your belief that God is outside of you; dis-appoint your belief that to get attention you have to create a huge emotional storm; dis-appoint your desire to be anything other than the humble fisherman, and when you do that, you will find that something marvellous happens.
If you are truly God - which you are - you will find that you have the power not only to disappoint the storm but you will actually become empowered by it . . . You will feel its opposing force of enthusiasm, and actually become enthusiastic about changing your world and your life. This power is enough to lift you up above any soluble surface, so you actually genuinely feel you are floating through the storm of your otherwise murky thought forms. Walking on the water of your emotional body.
The more you begin to use the power contained within you, the more you will find that things in your life begin to “morph” into something else. You begin to see everything in a different way. Be prepared for what you might find . . . because many of you, without even knowing it, have been living a lie perpetuated and supported by your denial of what is real.
Perhaps your job will be dis-appointed, maybe your relationship, maybe the friends you thought you had, who knows? What I do know, is that if you follow disappointment through to its conclusion, you will end up being nothing more than a humble fisherman, with a faith so strong in its re-appointment that you and your God will open your own fish and chip shop, with everyone in the world clamouring to book a table.
