THEY SAY
Samuel Thadeus Short
"Do not let your judgment be formed by that which your senses report to you, because your senses are betrayers and false witnesses." - H. B. Jeffery
It seems difficult to avoid "truisms" that everyone knows: the body slows down as we age. The environment is being polluted. Politicians are dishonest. We are awash in a sea of negative ideas that many of us take for granted, believe are true. We are almost as immersed in race thought. Race thought is the sum total of what the human race has thought and believed, some which are true. But just what is true and what is not? The reality is that God is all there is and God is perfection. Then where does the calamity come from? Everything manifest comes originally from thought. That which we think collectively is what we collectively create. God makes no judgment about any of these thoughts, but the Law of Cause and Effect causes our beliefs to be reflected in the material world. We just know that a certain dire thing is true because we see it around us - how could it not be true when it is so evident.
Are we condemned to the negativity of what "they say?" Is it being unrealistic to continue to know that in God's world, there is only perfection? We must consider how much power we are personally willing to give to race thought. We need to achieve a balance. Acknowledge that there are some unpleasant, even some awful conditions which exist but also remain aware that in all things, the essence of God's pure love and wholeness is more true and more powerful than what they say.
