Well, while some forms of reiki have the TM after them and many do not, it is how it works is that you go to a Reiki Master in that particular form of Reiki to learn it and be attuned. The only way you can be attuned is by a Reiki Master. The same theory applies to this as well.
I guess from my point of view, I understand it very well because I am a Usui Reiki Master as well as a Karuna Reiki (TM) Master. I had to go to a Reiki Master to learn and get attuned to both forms of reiki as well as I do the same for my own students.
So as far as seeing it as a scam or something, no I don't. I know that Reiki isn't a scam and after having had my DNA Activated, my cords cut, and my abilities unblocked (that I only had partial use of before) and now it has all multiplied, I guess that I see the proof that it isn't a scam on that end either.
