I also disagree with your doctor. From what I've learned about H.pylori that 70% of ulcers are caused by H.pylori not from stress. The other 30% if caused by taking to much aspirin and perhaps other bacteria. Check out this site: It is a very good site on H.pylori.

I believe that is a good excuse for a doctor to say that stress is the cause for ulcers. I think it is a old wise tail! My mother used to tell me that as well. I believe that it is a very good possibility that you may have contracted it from your boyfriend. Especially, if you got sick close to the same time as he was diagnosed with it. I would say it is a good assumtion. You may want to ask your doctor about the Urease breath test. It only takes 20 minutes. You take a pill and 20 minutes later blow into a machine that detects the bacteria. But, read the link I gave you, because theres a few things you have to do prior to taking the test. No Antibiotics 1 month prior, and no pepto bismo type medicines. Hope you will discover the cause or your illness. Don't lose hope! Just keep investigating. I'm doing the same.
