I actually had the same quesrtion as you did. The IF#1 worked gangbusters for me but my Dad took one and had bad diarrea and gas, so I did some research. For a more irritable bowel, I htink Dr. Schulze recommends skipping the #1 and using the #2, which i have also used and it's great and does not cause these symptoms as as it is not laxative at all.

Also, eating fresh veggies with your meal is good but I caution you about the fruit - fruit should be eaten alone and you should leave a half hour before you eat anything else. Otherwise, when it mixes with other food, it causes putrefication of food in your stomach and can give you gas or bloating.

I think Dr. S studied under Dr. Christopher and has spoken well about his herbs and herbal uses.
