I just did a simple search on Google for "drug research and FDA approval" and came up with this website as a good first start to knowing what is needed for FDA approval. Find where this website includes the consideration of special interests. You will find none. The approval is open to the public and any scientist is welcome to show any evidence contradicting reports or experimental data presented by a drug company.
