Bob - you recommend Schultz's #1 or #2, but in many places I've read, people are stating that cascara sagrada and or senna should be AVOIDED because it works via irritating the instestinal lining and makes elimination dependent on continuing, or even increasing, use of that herb. Since I can't open up my intestines to watch what is happening when taking a product, there is no way for me to tell if those people or people like you are correct - unless you or anyone else lets us know whether or not you/they were able to discontinue using the cascara-sagrada containing formulas after becoming regulated - what can you tell me about that with respect to your own experience? At this point I'd sooner cut off my foot than use an herb that irritates the lining of my innards, furthering the problems that they already have. Take a look at some of the posts from various people in several forums on curezone, there are a few that vehimently state to avoid these herbs. If everyone who has a strong opinion on these will please state what their own experience has been after using them/discontinueing them, we will all have a more solid knowledge base.
