Remember, that the more you use it, the less painful it's going to be. The capsaicin in cayenne peppers interacts with the release of Substance P, a chemical that acts on the nerves, causing them to transmit pain signals. With repeated use, the nerves become inured to this stimulation of Subs. P, & they will respond with fewer & fewer pain signals. You don't have to start off with the high doses. Start small. Very small. 1 drop on the tongue. Or 1 - 2 drops in a glass of water. Then after 3 days or so, up the amount just a tad. Add in 1 more drop, or 2 more drops. Always remember, "This is good for me! This is going to heal me!" It gets easier to adapt tastes for herbs when you gear your thinking.
And your body is going to be different than someone else's. Start with what your body is telling you it can handle. Then work up from there. If you are putting other great things in your body at the same time, you will still be getting great benefits & as you work up, you will receive even more. Also, cayenne is a 'carrier' herb. Anything that you add it to, it's going to bind the medicinal effects of those other herbs, carry them through your body more efficiently & get them deeper into the body tissues. Just adding 1/4 part cayenne to other formulas, teas, foods, etc..., you are going to get some benefit. And also remember, homemade cayenne tinctures are so much more potent than store bought, so right there is telling you that you will get some benefit just from introducing it into your diet little by little. You've already started, just keep doing it. Don't you quit. Start smaller if you want to & work up. Good luck & God Bless ~
