There is some kind of viral gunk which has been going around since 2002. I don't know if it is an attenuated form of West Nile Virus. WNV can have NO symptoms, so there is a suite of reactions. I would try the antiviral vitamin, LYSINE, which is derived naturally from corn. And slap some clay on those swollen glands, let dry, to try to suck 'em clean.
