Here's a little about me:
I love women’s studies, Buddhism, dance- Modern, African & ballet, books, books, books, camping/hiking with my husband, nature, NPR, dinner with my feminist friends (feminist whether they know it or not), independent bookstores and coffee shops, vegetarian restaurants with a flair, road trips along the California coast, and people who believe Peace is the answer above all else. “Everybody does better... when Everybody does better!” I believe we need to defend the human right to make any choice we want when it comes to what we do with our own bodies and that withholding any scientific information from our young people (adolescents) that could help save thier lives or prevent the spread of disease is an appalling human rights violation. If you really believe in God, then let God be the judge... as for us human beings... I hope for our hearts to always be full of compassion, love and forgiveness. Live and let live. As long as you feel safe and free to do what you choose, then America just might still be America.
I think it would be great if we all had to spend at least one night a month with those who have the exact opposite belief system as ours and wholeheartedly tried to listen with an open mind/heart with the emphasis always being on honoring different points of view as ALL legitimate ways to live... as long as the precondition was that everyone must honor difference as the most important aspect and refrain from trying to change one another to fit her or his own idea of what is "right" or "true." How boring would it be if we were all alike! Diversity is one of the greatest blessings... difference is what helps us grow. I dislike the idea that it's either one way or another... black or white... truth or fiction. I mean come on! Bend a little... imagine a little... turn your head a little to help change perspective... put yourself in someone else's experience. Inflexibility of the mind is my idea of hell. Some say, "I know for absolute sure that it is THIS way or it is sin." I hope I never become some. Idealistic? Yeah... but don't hate me for it.

What I don’t like... neo-conservative born again Christian republicans who tell me what I can and cannot do.
