Southern Belle, I laughed so much when I read your post. can't stop laughing. We have some weird sayings too.
I live in Western Australia. I gave a good American friend a great laugh when coming out of a Restaurant and looking for a taxi, I said we need to find a taxi " rank". She just couldn't stop laughing.
Our Prime Minister was on TV with George W. Bush yesterday and he said “ fair dinkum” meaning “ seriously”
We call friends “ mate” of course you know about our “ g’day” I saw it on the welcoming board of the Washington Airport last year.
I don’t know if you shout people drinks, but we do!
