I just had a cyst removed from the same area as your wife. It was just above my crack, and right on the bottom of my back. ( the tail bone ) . I had it for about 3 months. I'm 19 years old , and I thought it was just a bad sick zit from hell or something like that. But after visting my doctor for some time she told me that it was a pilonidal cyst. Those things have to be removed.Anyone can get them , they are not from being dirty or anything like that. I came apon your posting because just yesterday I had it removed and i was searching the web for info trying to get pictures to show my mom and dad what it looked like when they took it out. All i know is that they will not go away and i'm sorry to say but they do only get worst. You can help it in the mean time , by just taking hot showers cleaning the area very well, and by washing it with a damp towl afterward with some rubbing alcohol or something like that. I personaly put a patch of goss on it with some anti germ cream . Don't worry though, getting it removed is not a big deal. I think i had the biggest cyst in the world. All they do is just num it , and take it out. My doctor sowed mine up because it was about 1 1/2 inchs in me, and 2 inchs in diameter. It's really not that bad.
