Hello!

How does the hot compress help? Well, it helps in a few ways actually which makes it so damn effective:

1. The steaming and hot water on the cloth opens up the pores in your skin. When these pores are open, all the gunk trapped in there creating pimples and bacteria colonies is freer to escape!

2. While the pores are open, the solution you put in the water (anti bacterial soap, lemon juice, TEA TREE OIL, etc) is able to get to places deep inside your skin to kill the bacteria!

3. The gooey puss and all that that is under your skin is "liquified" so it is more easily carried away by your immune system. It helps the white heads...they basicly dissolve away (like a natural healing process!).

After I do this, I dont do anything more to my skin...just let it dry out naturally. I guess you could wash with some warm water and soap to further clean your pores...but your skin is usually pretty sensitive and fragile after doing the compress.

Good luck! By the way...I am in love with tea tree oil! Go buy some, its great! It doesn't make my skin oily at all!
