Hi, everyone,

Having spent many months trying to find sources for pasture-fed beef, raw milk (I now own four cow shares down in NYS) and raw butter, free-range eggs and chickens, raw, unfiltered, unheated honey, as well as buying two shares in their organic fruit and veggie produce, I now see how all of this hard work is going to pay off in The Maker's Diet.

For the past two years, I have been trying varying systems of raw and not feeling very satisfied. But, I have discovered how satisfied I am with delicious raw cream and raw eggs! So, that must be good. I have used Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions and have learned how to make chicken stock, etc., but the MD is laid out well as a program. Since we are chaotically busy at the moment and don't really expect that to ease up for a while, having a set program to follow makes great sense. The basic plan is simple.

I notice that people get distressed about the supplements being mentioned in the book, but it would seem to me that, along with SAD or a variation of it, we are lacking things which we should be consuming; these specific supplements put back those items into the system -- these are specific whole-food supplements to assist the body with what it is lacking and were designed to fit this way of eating. I plan on using the supplements initially and then seeing which ones I don't need later on as I become more used to the rhythms of this plan and my continuous use of fermented foods (which I still have to try and make!).

I am looking for others' experiences on the MD -- particularly those who follow the plan exactly, rather than a mix-and-match approach. :)
