I disagree, as do many performing these diagnostics, that ultrasound would not pick up non-calcified gallstones. There are different imaging techniques available for the detection of gallstones. Non-calcified, especially hundreds of them, would readily appear on the ultrasound. Ultrasound detects differences in tissue density and would easily be detected as outlined in the website I posted (one of many different sites supporting this detection via ultrasound). CT scans are also used but detection of non-calcified stones is routinely done with this method. Please provide some reference indicating that non-calcified Gallstones are not detectable via ultrasound other wise we will have to consider this as an invalid assumption upon which much speculation is based. Also pure cholesterol stones are white not green which is also supported by many websites documenting gallstone detection and treatment.
