I am really sorry to hear what you are going through. I know it is tough. I have been there in a lot of ways like your Mom. She sounds very borderline personality. The only thing that will help this is a good coginitive behaviour therapy. No pills or hospital will cure BPD. Please see if she can find a good therapist that treats BPD not all of them do and can make it worse. I was in therapy for 3 years and all my BPD symptoms have subsided and I quit cutting and other destructive things. I also had PTSD. The therapy works wonders. I also did some dialetical behavior therapy to retrain your thoughts.
