Hi. Instead of trying to tell him you want to help or for him to stop...Ask him how he feels when he cuts himself. Like, does it make him feel better, what is he thinking about whene he does it, etc. You might be able to find out what kind of relief cutting gives him & then maybe find another source of relief.
