I don't know if this will help but i will share with you my expereince. I have had a sebacious cyst before, and they were able to remove it wothout surgery. Basically, they numbed the area (yes, those shots kind of hurt but they're not that bad, just lidocaine) and then they injected i think it was some sort of cortisone directly into the cyst and then they squeezed blammo it erupted and they were able to drain it. No scarring.

Since your cyst is on the top of the head, that is actually a good place because there is not much fat between your scalp and the skull so it must be pretty near the surface. It should be very easy for them to drain it since it is right there and there isn't a lot of other tissue around.

This should also be good news if you have to have surgery. Sometimes if a cyst is deeper they will have to "pack it open" so that the top part doesn't heal first and still leave a pocket of infection in it. This just means leaving the wound open as it heals. I have had this done before too with great success. This is very important to do. I would recommend you find a doctor and ask him or her how many of these operations they have performed. You want to go to a doctor who has done many of these and who knows the things to look out for to prevent infection and who knows how to skillfully perform the procedure. Do not go to a doctor who rarely performs these procedures.

I have also had other cysts and I have gotten them to the surface and drained them myself. I used the "hot pack" method and I can't remember the ingredients exactly, but I know if you do a search on this site you should find some good info. All a sebacious cyst is is just a pimple that is further beneath the surface and has "walls". Although since yours has been around awhile this may not work or may take a lot of effort.

You may also want to read up on this site about lymph cleansing and liver flushing. That could help take care of the overall problem. You may also want to consider doing regular saunas if you can or detox baths.
