40679, I appreciate your thoughts here and I agree with you -- they are a very organized mob. What concerns me is that a very specific group of WOF preachers ( http://www.discernment.org/ ) has smeared virtually ALL Pentecostal/Charismatic churches. The message of these folks is seductive. The know how to combine just enough truth to sound legitimate.
Walter Martin comes to mind as a solid doctrinal Christian who was a charismatic -- believing the gifts of the Spirit are for today.

Jimmy Swaggart is an interesting person to watch at this time. I've heard him say on his SonLife radio station how he started Ken and Gloria Copeland in their ministry, many years ago. He now renounces the prosperity gospel and he laments the rise of these WOF teachers. He said he and his wife met with the Copeland's and tried to show them their errors, but they refused to listen.
Swaggart said he had a revelation to only preach the Cross, back in 1997. He says he has been doing only that, since then. He says he has repented and drastically changed his ways. In the very short time I've listened to his radio station, I've heard some good preaching from him.... and then I will hear him backslide and say things that absolutely make me cringe!!! To his credit, Swaggart has been speaking out against deception in the Church, especially the WOF movement-prosperity gospel, comtempletive prayer, the papacy, and much more. He seems to be moving in the right direction, but he needs LOTS of prayer that God will keep him moving in that direction.
