Thanks. That was so helpful. I truly believe what you said too about the principles in the Bible keeping us safe and away from harm. God wants to protect us. I have had those exact same thoughts as to why it 'talks' about in the Bible about abstaining from sex outside of marriage, there can be a lot of consequences as you stated: disease, pregnancies, heartbreak if it (the relationship) falls through, etc. I have remained celibate for 9 years almost now. In my early twenties, I can't say I was as strong about not falling into temptations, & God spoke to my heart & told me that I was going down the wrong path. It's not always easy, as we are all humans, but I know I have 'succeeded' in avoiding this temptation with God's help. I once heard on a radio station a message from a pastor who said that God does not have a problem with us when we are struggling with temptation, because He wants us to come to Him, it becomes a problem when we give in to the temptation & don't have any conscience about it. But he was saying that God delights (not sure if that is the right word) if we are struggling with temptation but then bring it to Him, because that shows I guess that we are seeking to try to do the right thing.
