there are two ways to look at this.

one is that god the potter makes some vessels for noble use and some for ignoble use and that is his decision to make. we just accept it.

but there is another side. just like jonah's gourd, god loves us all. if we were to be earnestly seeking to be like god, we would show love to all. and being sly as serpents, we could even trick people into the kingdom.

matthew 10

39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.


what is a prophets reward if not eternal life? or a righteuos mans? or, put another way, how can anyone receive a reward and be dead? i plan on dragging as many into the kingdom as possible, in fact, everyone i meet. if they are precious to god, they are precious to me!
