I'm a classically trained musician myself, and couldn't agree with you more on the music thing. I was in an Episcopal church for 6 years, and you are right, the litergy can be beautiful and anointed- but it usually isn't. And our church just put up a projector screen this past Sunday, to do exactly as you described.

This morning as I was praying, I journaled what I thought were my inner stirrings about the order of service. Almost word for word, they were what you describe in your Russian house church experience. Is that the correct way to worship? Certainly not for every believer. But is it what my heart is longing for? Possibly. The fact that Ev touched on it and you wrote it makes me want to pray about it more and maybe take the next step forward.
