The parable of the 10 virgins is wonderful because it is speaks about he return of our Lord Jesus, His second coming, Matthew 24:27-31. It is a parable about watching and being ready for the Brigegroom which is Jesus.

The bridegroom is coming and we are warned to be ready. I believe the oil is a symbol for the Holy Spirit and the Word is saying those born of the Spirit will join the bridegroom, jesus, and those not born of the Spirit will not.

Matthew chapter 25 speaks of personal salvation in verses 1-13, which is the parable of the virgins. Then in verses 14-30 we have the parable of the talents which is how we walk our Christian walk, stewardship. Lastly in verses 31 through the end we see how we are to serve in the kingdom of God.
