the problem is twofold.

first, all of christendom finds itself in the same situation as the jews did two thousand years ago. they did not understand the scriptures. powerful men instituted doctrines for their own purposes long ago and they have now become traditions.

second, the only way to see through all of this is to follow jesus and do what he says to do. all the explaining in the world will not do anyone any good. the mind literally has to be transformed and this takes an active participation by the individual as gad will not interfere with free will. if we already knew or were how we are supposed to be, we wouldnt need a savior.

in order for this board to be in total agreement, there would have to one for each denomination. the majority who post here sound like fundamentalist christions. to me, the proper way to look at it is not "which one is right?" but instead that they are all wrong. if i encounter a seeker, that is my first advice - listen to no man, especially me. read the word and do what it says and decide for yourself if it is of god. if you never do what it says, you have no experience with god and therefor no basis for a relationship with him. it has to be voluntary and, quite obviously, it is with most people opting out.
