My God is a loving God and is not angry with me. The God in this warning sounds more like Belzebub than any other god I have read in scripture. Creating fear may get somecoersed confessions but I doubt if it changes any hearts. I like praying to to the loving God who loves me no matter what. That God who I run to for help doesn't sound anything like this unloving warning.
