THE RAPTURE OF LUKE 17

INTRODUCTION: This study clears away the theories that abound with the rapture. Many of the nominal churches believe in a rapture using the verses here in Luke to support their theory As we look closely we will be able to decide if we want to be one of those that are "taken" or "left".

Read Luke 17:34-37

WHERE ARE THEY TAKEN?
1. In verses 34 & 35 we see three pairs of people and it tells us specifically where they are.
2. In verse 36 the disciples are asking "Where Lord." Note: they are no asking where the "left" ones are, as they know where they were left. They must be asking where the "taken" ones are.
3. The Lord answers them in verse 37. "Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
4. To find out where the eagles are gathered together look at Job 39:27-30 and Matt. 24:28. The eagles gather where the dead bodies are. The taken are slain.

SUMMARY: The "taken" ones are the ones taken in Ezekiel nine and slaughtered. That is why the eagles are gathering around their bodies. The "left" ones are the ones who will inherit the kingdom of God. Now the question to be asked by all of us, Do we want to be one that is "taken" or one that is "left". What we do with our lives and how we live the truth is the answer we will give the Lord.
