Rudenski, nobody is saying that there aren't nice people in other religions or organizations. There are very nice people in JW, Mormonism, Gaia worship, snake worship, Hinduism, etc. But does that mean the Chrisitian should 'learn something' from these religions, as the Pope has said? Absolutely not! People can get positive, life-changing experiences from just about anything, but experience must never rule over truth, and truth is only known through studying the Bible. Jesus said we would KNOW the Truth, not experience the truth.

Christians are commanded to preach the Gospel, not to see how nice the heathen are. If you love lost people you will tell them how to be saved, not pat them on the head and congratulate them on how loving they are as they continue on their way to hell. This is why doctrine matters. Have you ever read Fox's Book of Martyrs? Those people all believed doctrine was worth dying for.

PK doctrine is suspect at best. Catholic doctrine is deceptive and heretical (there, I said it). Other doctrines are outright lies. Does God's love rule over his holiness? There is no holiness without a standard, and standards come from doctrine. It would be a grave sin for me to know the Way and not point others to it, or to only talk about God's love and not his holiness.

Putting experience and emotion before doctrinal purity is putting the cart before the horse. We need to practice both.
