Hi Shannon,

You are correct in stating that our meats are tainted today, but remember also that our fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. are also tainted due to pesticides, chemical fertilizers, genetic engineering, topsoil depletion, etc. We should look for organic, non-GMO fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. We should also look for organic, grass-fed animal products.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:14-16

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Co 10:31

It is truly a mystery how God is Sovereign, yet at the same time we have the human responsibility to remain obedient to Him. Only God knows exactly when He will call each one of us home. Our only responsibility is to live each day for His glory, no matter how much time we are given here on earth.

Eat, drink and do everything for God’s glory. Maintain a healthy Diet and lifestyle, but never become so obsessed with your health plan that you begin to worship the created body, rather that the Creator of that body.

I don’t know if any of us can add any years to our lives, but if we are disciples of Christ, we can rest assured that the times of our lives are always in His sovereign hands (see Psalm 31:15).

Thank you for your thoughtful reply to my post. I greatly respect your opinions. You asked a great question regarding our diet as recorded in the Bible.
