It's truly disturbing that the only information I can find on this on the internet is extreme, either to one side or the other, they either want to sell me or make me believe it's the root of all evil.

Can't anyone write a non-biased article? I guess the only answer is to do my own experiments and see. I'll have to burn a candle by itslef and see if any "earwax" collects in the end. I've read articles written by people who claim to have done the same thing - some say the "earwax" is there anyway and others do not.

I know from experience that my ears and head DO FEEL BETTER after a candling session and really, whether that stuff in the end is earwax or melted parraffin/beeswax, that is the only thing that really matters. I am very concerned though about melted wax dripping out the bottom of the candle into my ear.

I have witnessed the smoke volcano-ing around inside the tube and coming out the top that convinces me there IS a vacuuming effect, regardless of what the "root of all evil" folks say. That convinces me to some extent that wax will not be able to drip downward. Also, to do a proper experiment it's essential to put the small end of the cone into something that will mimic an ear - which is to say I need something that will seal around the tube airtight but allow airflow up through the cone. Hmmmm, most of these "root of all evil" folks have used a bottle or something similar but that won't really work the same, will it? Interesting Idea, I'll have to think on it.
