Thank you so very much for your kind reply. I really do not know if there is an infection or not. I just know that this happens to me some times when I get a bad cold and it lingers. I am assuming there is not an infection. I had many ear infections when I was a child and this is not like that. As an adult I have had this problem more than once. It was diagnosed once, years ago, by an ear specialist as "fluid behind the ear drum." He said it was not infected. The doctor cleared the eustacian tube by forcing air in through my nostril with a pressure hose, while holding my other nostril shut. I had immediate relief and was instructed to do this my own self, by pinching shut my nose and blowing until it "clicks" in my ear. I have been doing this for over a week (I have a cold) now and was thinking that the ear candles may help. I do understand your position and respect that. Let me ask it this way....if this was you, and you were sure that there was no inner ear infection, would you do ear candling on your own self? I know you do not want to get into any trouble by trying to answer questions on this forum. If you would rather not answer this question, I am fine with that also. Thank you again for your time, I appreciate it.

Blueduck, with plugged eustacian tube and looking for relief ! *S*

PS I am not going to a doctor.
