I absolutely love mine. It is hot, and while "breaking in" the wood my eyes would sting, but now that I have had it for awhile it doesn't any longer. I would wear swimming goggles, and that worked fine until it was broke in. I have never had dry skin from using it, but I always drink a quart while I am in there and I drink anywhere from 3/4 to a gallon of water a day. My skin is always very soft, that and I take essential fatty acids. It seems that your dislikes are purely comfort wise, what about health wise how do you feel about it? Personally, I would rather lose 20% toxins and fat from an infrared sauna versus 2% using a steam sauna. I bought it for my health, and I feel it is a great tool in the road to getting healthy. Anytime my husband gets hurt (he is very accident prone) he gets in the sauna twice a day and it amazing how much quicker it will heal. When I was pregnant I had a bit of sciatica trouble, it cleared it up right away after using the sauna. It is the best thing I have ever seen for insomnia, in the first three days we used it me and my dad both were sleeping so much better. Now I sleep great on a regular basis, there for years I didn't feel like I was sleeping--just napping for 10 hours. It has helped my mom and my dad's kidneys, they said they feel better immediately after saunaing. If you have mercury poisioning (anyone with Amalgam fillings does) nothing is more effective that I know of than infrared for detoxing. If you bought your sauna for health reasons I would recommend giving it another try. Buy you a cheap pair of goggles, drink plenty of water, and I think your experience will be better. If you still have dry skin, you can always spray some oil all over your body before entering the sauna. This will increase your sweating (therefore toxin release) and will moisterize your skin. Be sure and use a good oil, coconut oil is what I would recommend, but there are other good oils you can use as well. Just don't use canola or soybean oil, they are toxic oils and you do not want them absorbing into your body. Best of luck to you, and best to your health :) Caitlin Lorraine
