Hi Debbie
I am not sure about yeast infection and digestion. I do know that yeast infection causes the cravings for sweet things to feed the infection further. In addition, if there is excessive Candida albicans, the yeast settle on the walls of the GI tract and become fungus like. They then grow roots which go through the walls causing food particles and protein to escape into the blood stream. When that happens, the body react by activating the defence mechanism and attack these foreign substances. This gives rise to an allergic reaction, usually - allergies being a common consequence of excessive yeast infection. The other sure sign is a white vaginal discharge.
A good probiotic usually can help eliminate excessive yeast infection. The probiotic must have a sure bacteria count (revival rate) and preferably be at least 6-12 strains with at least a few colonizing strains. They prevent reinfection when treated. The probiotic must also be protected from the strong stomach acids when ingested so that it can get to the intestines to work effectively when ingested.
I hope that the above is useful and helpful.
Take care
