I did a "forced" cleanse about 2 years ago. I say that because I was hospitalized and didn't eat for 10 days -- only what was fed into my tube (liquids). When I got out of the hospital, I had lost 20 pounds. However, it took me 2 years and alot of bad habits to regain it. So I don't know if I agree with your docs assessment on that. Besides, you were not starving yourself. The aid has enough calories to sustain and plenty of vitamins and minerals -- so your body shouldn't be in starvation mode. I don't even think I was getting minerals while hospitalized.

Question - what did you eat when you resumed eating? Maybe that would shed some light?
