What is the problem with Splenda?

As I have read, I think Splenda is Sugar with an extra molecule attached to make it too big to be absorbed and it passes through the system.

This is the first artifical sweetner I have taken in decades and not too crazy about it. The idea is to move the oatmeal through you and clean you out.
This might be an idea from the Southbeach diet.
