I went through the various reactions on this thread, and I am sorry to hear about all your problems. I do hope that I am spared all these, as it has only been 6 weeks since my surgery.
I had the diarrhea, pains, shortness of breath, fatigue, etc. for some time.
Right now, they are all gone and here was what I did, thanks to my great doctor:
- Digestive enzymes, in the form of Papaya (green is better) extracts, taken once per day
- Milk Thistle with Dandelion Root tablets, taken after each meal
- Heavy breakfast, Medium Lunch, Very light dinner (carrot-celery-parsley juice, if possible)
- Eat a lot of bitter food (bitter melon, dandelion, red lettuce, etc.)
But what really turned things around for me, was a few alcoholic drinks, 5 shots of brandy over 3 hours to be exact, 4 weeks after my surgery.
We have to take care of our liver more, considering it is now burdened more functions, with the lack of a gallbladder. Milk Thistle contains Silymarin which promotes liver regeneration, and dandelion is a bitter herb that also benefits the liver. The papaya extracts takes a load off our liver's digestion functions.
I could go on and on, but you get the picture...
