Hello, I had my gallbladder removed Friday 3/11/05. I had surgery at 8:30 am and was in recovery by 10:45. I was taken to my room then and slept for a little while, then I was up and about using bathroom. I was very sore but medications helped. My Dr came in at 10:30 pm that night and released me, I ate good and wasnt sick and was doing really well. I got up saturday walked around, ate some soup and crackers and thought i was in good shape, Sunday came, I did well, in alot of pain but nothing I couldnt handle, then Monday morning came...I awoke at 6:30 am in severe pain, I broke out into a sweat and my whole right side was paralyzed do to the pain, I couldnt breathe and I thought I was going to die, My bf called 911 and i was rushed to the hospital, i laid in pain for hours before i was given anything for pain, i had to go through a series of test and one was where i had to lay for 1 hour while a machine took a picture of my stomach, a dr came in and informed me that i had a leakage, by 1 pm i was in surgery again, they went down my throat, a procedure called "endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography" they put a "stint" in one of my ducts, i was then sent to my room where i stayed till tuesday, i was released at 12 pm, i have been home for 3 days now and i am sore as ever, i am afraid to eat, but i do. and when i do i can feel the digestion process begin, it is painful and very uncomfy, i have to return to dr on the 22nd to get staples removed but on April 14th i go to the other surgeon, to schedule another surgery to have the stint removed, I have became very depressed and I cant help but wonder if I made a big mistake, My gallbladder attacks werent as bad as this. I cant sleep, and when i do its not for long and i have very bad nightmares, not sure why but i do. I to admire those who have this procedure done and is up and about in 5-7 days, i have a long road ahead and i just hope and pray to God that I will finally get back to normal.
